While in Wal-Mart tonight, I was talking with my boyfriend who is an employee. He is one of those employees who bring the items out from the back on pallet jacks. I noticed what he was pulling to the floor and I told him to take them back as it was too early. His load consisted of artificial Christmas trees. That is sad that artificial Christmas trees are putting stocked already. The year sure has flown by, hasn’t it?

Soon stores around the nation will be stocking Christmas items so we can all go purchase them. I hate Christmas shopping. I am one of those people who enjoy making gifts for others that I care about.  Most of the people on my list get homemade cookies, as I love to bake.

Besides, I go broke around the holidays anyways as my children all have December and January birthdays! You know with kids, when their birthdays comes around you have to show the love.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful family time to share the blessings of the season. I am blessed to have a large extended family to celebrate the holidays with.  We do gather together for a massive meal, just my parents, my children, my siblings, along with nieces and nephews.  Four generations under one roof, people of all ages sitting down to enjoy the bounty of the season.

Last year I made the mashed potatoes for everyone, trust me I will not be doing that again.  It was too much hard work peeling 20 pounds of potatoes by hand, cooking, mashing, and all that jazz.   However, that is how you do it. Prepared mashed potatoes do not taste authentic and that is precisely what is needed for a home-style family oriented Thanksgiving.

I am starting to now fill my que over at Associated Content with some very cool Christmas Gift articles.  It does seem funny to be writing Christmas articles this early, but that is how we do things in this freelancing world.  To get myself in the mood to write those articles I am listening to Christmas music!

I love Christmas because it allows me to be creative. I try to make as many Christmas gifts that I can, because it is easier on my wallet.  I also like decorating for the holidays, the lights, the festivities, spirit that fills the air!   I am one of those silly women who sing Christmas carols as I decorate or bake my cookies. It’s just such a happy time.
