Thanksgiving, the truth of the first one
I wrote an article for associated content today about how the first Thanksgiving holiday really was. Did you know that five women cooked that first Thanksgiving holiday feast? Yes, it was only five women doing all that cooking. After that first year for the pilgrims, only five of those females survived the brutal new world, all the female work fell upon their shoulders.
Many moms, myself included complain about the amount of cooking we do for our own families on this special holiday. I know I have done my share, as my husband and I had three children and for all holiday meals I cook like my mom showed me. I am one of seven children so holiday meals were huge, and we still gather to do the same thing yearly.
